Tom Boardman and the Special Tuning Racing Team are returning to the WTCC this weekend in Porto after missing the previous two rounds. Tom has raced before in Porto, competing in the 2009 WTCC event, and previously to that, the SEAT Supacopa series. The Boavista Circuit is a track that he really enjoys, though there have been a number of changes to the layout since he last raced here.
Commenting on his return Tom said “Its good to be back and racing again especially here in Porto. It is always difficult when you are a spectator and it is a real shame that we had to miss Austria and Russia. I believe it was the right thing to do though and now we can look forward positively. I love the excitement of street circuits, and here in Porto is no exception. There are so many opportunities to get a good result because anything can happen. The fact that we are racing through the streets and not on a purpose built circuit creates a real buzz. My main aim now will be to get some points on the board!”
